Aggelos Barai (My Albania) (AL)

Aggelos Barai was born in 1994 in Albania, however, he moved to Greece with his family at a very young age. After winning the National Photography Competition, he studied on scholarship History and Philosophy of Art and Photomedia at  the department of fine arts of Borgias Fine Art & Design Academy. He won another scholarship from the School of Photography "Orama" after a photographic Portfolio contest. There he attended photography courses with the photographer John Rizomarko, the photojournalist Maro Kouri and the photojournalist and filmmaker Myrto Papadopoulos. He worked as an assistant photographer, but also as a photographer for music and film festivals and concerts in Greece. He has been official photographer at NGOs, social collectives and social initiatives. At the present time he works as a freelance photographer in the fields of photojournalism for online media, as well as for Greek and foreign photo agencies based in Greece. Recently he is working in Greece and Albania, capturing with his camera situations and events. His photos have participated in competitions and have been exposed to major festivals and in group shows in Greece and abroad.

Andrey Lomakin (Calm Waters) (UΑ)

Andrey Lomakin, (b. 1974), is a Ukrainian photographer based in Kiev, Ukraine. From 2008 till 2014 worked as staff photographer at Tyzhden magazine(Ukraine). Since 2014 is working on personal documentary projects as a freelance photographer.

Dimitris Chantzaras (Immigrant's journey) (GR)

Dimitris Chantzaras is a freelance photographer based between Thessaloniki, Greece and Munich, Germany. He studied Mechanical Engineering and got his degree from Aristoteles University of Thessaloniki. It was during the course of his studies that he became interested in Photography through the Photography Club (F.O.A.P.Th.) of the University. Ever since, he has attended several courses and workshops on photojournalism in Greece and abroad.

He is focusing in social issues and especially the last 3 years he is working on a long term project about migration and follows immigrants in their journey.

Vasiliki Sandali (Concealed Souls) (GR)

Vasiliki Sandali was born and grew up in Athens. In 2009 she attended the photographic seminars conducted by Christos Kopsachilis and since October 2015 she has been attending the seminars of Photographic Circle conducted by Platon Rivellis. She has worked for front-page photos of magazines and books, while her work has been presented in photographic webpages and journals. In 2010 she participated, with a series of her photographs, in the Open Screen Project, which was part of Athens Photo Festival. 

Christos Sotiropoulos (Speedancers) (GR)

Born in Egion (Achaia, Greece) in 1980. Since 1998 he lives in Patras, where he studied in the Medical school of Patras University. He started photographing in 2000.

Distinctions

Jannis Tordheim was born in 1984 in Stockholm, Sweden. He started photographing when he was a teenager but it would take a long time before he realized that photography was his real passion.

Garcia de Marina (Nimius) (ES)

Garcia de Marina was born in Gijon, Spain in 1975 and is a self-taught photographer. In 2010 he discovered photography and from that moment he has felt trapped by the art form. His story was born and developed on social networks. From 2012 he has used objects as a form of expression, creating four solo exhibitions and various group exhibitions since then, in addition he has participated in diverse art fairs. His photographies has been publised in specialised magazines and some mass media in the world. In his career, Garcia de Marina defends another reality through minimalism, paradox, irony and metaphor. The artist does not carry out any photographic manipulation on the images, but transfigures his subjects by setting up scenarios, and searches for the best angle to take a picture of them. From the minimalist perspective, the inventiveness of his gaze lays claim to another reality. From observation we may create, from imagination we may innovate. Recently he has participated in last Festival Fotoweek (Washington) and last Photo Romania Festival. Garcia de Marina imparts talks and workshops about creativity.

Ioannis Robokos (Talking Walls) (GR)

Yiannis Rompokos was born in 1972 in Athens and grew up in the village of Krines in Corinth. He studied Statistics at Athens University of Economics and lives in Athens.

He works as a bank clerk. He is married and has one child. He got involved in artistic - creative photography  by watching art photography courses organized by the municipality of Maroussi in 2013, under the overall supervision and responsibility of the photographer Dionisis Koutsis, discovering a new aspect of his everyday life, the look. He is a member of the Greek Photographic Society. He has participated in four group exhibitions so far. Two under the shield of the municipality of Maroussi which took place at HELEXPO in Maroussi (May 2014) and at Maroussi City Hall (June 2015), and two of the IEK E.S.P. in Thessaloniki, which were both held in E.S.P. Gallery (November 2014 and November 2015). He has taken the critic's prize at colour photography (free theme) as well as the silver medal in the single thematic, participating with portfolio of 4 photos on subject "Talking Walls" in the annual nationwide competition of Greek Photographic Society in 2015. Also, he has received the second prize in the photography competition organized by the IEK E.S.P. entitled "Summer in the city" in 2015. His aim is the consistent attitude towards art, the constant evolution through the approach of technical perfection and sufficient theoretical training, but above all the sincere and genuine expression of his interiority.

Tassos Chios (In the city center) (GR)

Tassos Chios was born in Athens and brought up in Poros, Trizinia. He studied Social Sciences in Panteio Univercity of Athens and has got a degree in Sociology. He has been living in Thessaloniki since 1991. He has been engaged in photography since 1984. He held three personal photo exhibitions and took part in group photo exhibitions. In 2010 he took part in the group exhibition in the context of Photobiennale which is organized by the Photo Museum of Thessaloniki. Moreover, he participated in three photo festivals "CONTRAST" which were organized in Thessaloniki (2010, 2011 - 12, 2014). He is member of the photography groups Klikers and "Φ'. A part of his work has been published in the magazine Photographer.
