Competition "I have a dream" 2019

NEWS/ A festive evening in Cluj-Napoca

Flying above the Transilvanian forests, little did I know about the dreamlike beauty that Cluj-Napoca had to offer.
I would represent the Photometria festival as a photographer among other partners of the Photo European Network (PHEN) in Photo Romania Festival, giving a presentation as part of the Photostories section. A Festival that exceeded all my expectations and -simply put- made me feel at home. A Home of photography lovers and enthusiasts.
It's a great opportunity to see people willing to share their views and achievements in photography fields without holding back and going competitive. That seems to be the very core of both the Photo Romania Festival and PHEN. The Photostories section of the festival held such treasures in its chest. Professor Dorel Gaina set the tone, photographers from the European Network showcased their current projects and Colin Ford gave a lecture in history of photography of the region. Did you know Brassai, Kertesz, Moholy Nagy connected in one way or another with Romania and Cluj? Me neither.
Casa PhotoRomania was the place to call it a night after palinka being served for multiple rounds of "noroc". We promised just to have fun and not to talk about photography and ,well, that palinka stuff did its job. The Casa is a reconstructed villa that served both as an exhibition space and hang out place, retro themed and filled with sounds of vinyl records. It was also the place where the PHEN meeting took place where Panagiotis Papoutsis and Panagiotis Pappas as the team behind Photometria Festival, shared their vision of the future of PHEN.
