Photometria International Photography Festival, in collaboration with Zoetrope Athens, presents to the Athenian public two international photobook exhibitions focusing on contemporary publishing practices and highlighting the photobook as an independent artistic medium. The exhibitions were presented as part of the 17th Photometria International Photography Festival 2025.

The Photometria Photobooks Exhibition brings together a selection of recent publications by Greek and international creators. The works move between photography, storytelling, and experimental design, exploring the book form as a space for composition, rhythm, and materiality.

The exhibition includes the following publications: Amorous Glances by Alexandra Masmanidi, Disthanees (Dead Twice) by Christos Dimitriou, Domestic by Katrina Stamatopoulos, Elephant by Dimitris Mytas, Far Away from Home by Hristina Tasheva, Human Activity by Jana Gertz, I Saw a Tree Bearing Stones by Emilia Martin, Imperfections and Roots & Waltz by Regina Maria Anzenberger, Non Cycladia by Odysseas Tsompanoglou, Not All Bald Men with Beards Are Javier Talavera by Javier Talavera, Nowhere Tree by Two Spiky Gorillaz, Ondes by Bénédicte Blondeau, Paternity Ratio by Giulio Favotto, So Much Love by Alexandros Zafeiridis, Summer Cancelled by Adrienn Józan, Synapse by Evgenia Patsouri, Terra Incognita by Spyros Zervoudakis, The Inevitable Anguish of Desire by Maria Denise Dessimoz, The Lines We Draw by Lavinia Parlamenti & Manfredi Pantanella, Unveiling Between by Konstantina Tsirogianni, Who Loves It by Karol Jarek, and Win or Lose by Yizhen Zhang.

At the same time, the exhibition of the Polish Photographic Publication of the Year 2025 award is presented, organized by Fotofestiwal Łódź in collaboration with Bookoff Art Bookstore and Służewski Dom Kultury. The exhibition showcases the year’s most dynamic Polish publications, highlighting the creative relationship between photography and graphic design and proposing new forms of visual storytelling.

Together, the two exhibitions create a shared space for exchange around independent photographic publishing, connecting local and international practices and approaching the book as a medium of artistic research.
